Fawn Township PA, History and Location

Fawn Township is located in Allegheny County Pennsylvania and as of a 2000 census, the population was 2,504. The land size is 13.25 square miles.The area of Fawn Township was settled in 1794, when Ezekiel Miller came from Cumberland County, built a cabin, and named the area Millerstown. One of the most important historical structures in the township is the Dawson Grist Mill, built in 1843. There was some coal mining after 1900 which left abandoned mines along Howes Run and Thompson Roads.
