The city of Pittsburgh is situated between the Allegheny and the Monogahela rivers , which flow into the Ohio River. The city of Pittsburgh is home to the Steelers, Pirates and the Penguins. The city of Pittsburgh also home to the Pittsburgh Zoo, the Carnegie Science center, Kennywood Amusement park, Phipp’s Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, and the Heinz History Center.

Great areas in the city include ShadySide, Highland Park, and Oakland. Shadyside is compromised of large old Victorian homes with quaint street shopping on Walnut Street. Shadyside also has its share of great restaurants, ranging from the expensive to the inexpensive. Highland Park also has great old Victorian homes. Highland Park is known for the park that surrounds one of the city’s reservoirs. It also has a fountain and street vendors in the spring, summer and fall.

Oakland is home to the University of Pittsburgh and the Pitt Panthers sports teams. Carlow University, The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Magee Women’s Hospital and the Children’s Hospital are all located in Oakland.

When you are in downtown Pittsburgh you can see a play, eat a great meal or shop at one of our many great stores. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has includes the Pittsburgh Ballet, Pittsburgh Filmmakers, Pittsburgh Opera, and Pittsburgh Symphony.

At the Point, a State Park located at the meeting of the rivers, is an annual 4th of July Regatta. For the $1 admission fee, you can enjoy the park, food vendors, art vendors, the boats and live entertainment.

The city of Pittsburgh Schools are comprised of 53 elementary, 17 middle and 10 high schools. There are also numerous private schools in the Pittsburgh Area.
